Expands courts authorized to issue material witness orders to include family courts in addition to district and circuit courts.

Allows material witness orders to be issued when an indictment, information, or felony complaint has been filed and is currently pending.

Permits district or family courts to issue material witness orders when a felony complaint is pending, or permits circuit or family courts to issue them upon indictment by grand jury or finding of probable cause by a district court.

Material witness orders issued by district or family courts remain in effect until disposition of the felony complaint, during grand jury proceedings if defendant is held over, for ten days after indictment is filed, and during the pendency of the action if endorsed by circuit or family court within the ten-day period.
