Establishes a department of Hawaiian home lands Hawaii island working group to address financing and insurance issues faced by beneficiaries on Hawaii island.

Working group shall examine unexploded ordnances on former defense sites, financing options for home repairs, insurance options in lava zones, and other relevant issues affecting homestead lessees.

Membership includes the DHHL director (chairperson), executive director of Hawaii housing finance and development corporation, one state senator, and one state representative, with designation deadline of October 1, 2017.

Working group may invite representatives from Office of Hawaiian Affairs, lending industry, insurance industry, homestead lessees, and lease applicants to participate in discussions.

Working group shall submit findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2018 regular session and dissolve on June 30, 2018; $10,000 appropriated for fiscal year 2017-2018.
