Requires child care facilities (family child care homes, group child care centers, group child care homes, and infant and toddler child care centers) caring for children under one year of age to implement and maintain written safe sleep policies compliant with department rules.

Mandates that operators place infants one year of age or younger on their backs for sleeping, unless a health care professional provides a written waiver from this requirement.

Requires operators to discuss the safe sleep policy with parents or legal guardians before enrollment and obtain their signed acknowledgment of receipt and discussion.

Mandates that operators and all employees complete safe sleep training conducted by the Department of Human Services.

Requires child care facilities to promptly report to the department any deaths of children one year of age or younger that occur in their care.
