Requires all child care facilities registered or licensed to provide care for children under one year of age to implement and maintain a written safe sleep policy to prevent sudden infant death syndrome and sudden unexpected infant deaths.

Mandates that operators place children under one year of age on their backs for sleeping unless a written waiver is obtained from a health care professional.

Requires operators to discuss the safe sleep policy with parents or legal guardians before enrollment and obtain their signed acknowledgment of receipt and discussion of the policy.

Mandates that operators and employees complete annual training in safe sleep practices conducted by the department.

Requires child care facilities to promptly report to the department the death of any child under one year of age that occurs in the facility.
