Clarifies that acute care hospitals are included as "health care facilities" under Hawaii's clean claims statute (HRS 431:13-108), which requires insurers to pay uncontested provider claims within 30 days for written submissions or 15 days for electronic submissions.

Amends the definition of "health care facility" in HRS 323D-2 to explicitly include "facilities that provide inpatient medical care and other related services for surgery or acute medical conditions or injuries (usually for a short-term illness or condition)."

Removes the exclusion of acute care hospitals from the definition of "health care facility" in the clean claims statute (HRS 431:13-108), eliminating ambiguity created by 2015 legislative amendments.

Removes the now-unnecessary standalone definition of "acute care hospital" from HRS 431:13-108, consolidating the definition into the broader "health care facility" definition.

Becomes effective upon approval.
