Department of Health requested to convene a working group with American Cancer Society-Hawaii-Pacific and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network to develop recommendations for increasing colorectal cancer screening rates

Working group to incorporate cancer control organizations including hospitals, healthcare associations, community health centers, insurers, and other public health groups

Working group directed to examine actions including public education, identification of barriers for underserved populations, provider-client reminder systems, partnerships with community clinics and federally qualified health centers, and outreach to union organizations and employer groups

Working group to assess existing state and community resources, targeted models for reaching underserved populations, inter-organizational collaboration strategies, and other proposals to increase screening rates

Working group required to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days prior to the 2018 Regular Session convening
