Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism requested to develop a master plan for the Hilo International Aerospace and Technology Park in collaboration with specified agencies including High Technology Development Corporation, Office of Aerospace Development, University of Hawaii at Hilo, Hawaii Community College, and County of Hawaii.

Master plan shall identify a site in Hilo for the proposed park and address development of aerospace, technology, and innovation industries in East Hawaii.

Department may request additional agencies and organizations, including those promoting Native Hawaiian and youth interest in aerospace technology, to participate in the planning process.

Master plan including the proposed site must be submitted to the Legislature no later than 60 days before the convening of the 2018 Regular Session.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to relevant state and county officials, university leadership, and other stakeholder organizations.
