Requests the Auditor to conduct a sunrise analysis of H.B. No. 374, H.D. 1 (2017) relating to regulatory controls for dental assistants under section 26H-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Dental assistants are currently an unregulated profession in Hawaii, and H.B. 374 proposes to prohibit the Board of Dental Examiners from adopting rules that would allow dental assistants' duties to overlap or conflict with those of dental hygienists.

Requires the Auditor's analysis to address the probable effects of the proposed regulatory measure, its consistency with the Hawaii Regulatory Licensing Reform Act (chapter 26H, HRS), and alternative forms of regulation.

Auditor must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature at least twenty days before the convening of the Regular Session of 2018.

A certified copy of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Auditor.
