Requests the Auditor to conduct a sunrise review of proposed licensure and regulation of gerontologists under S.B. No. 541 and H.B. No. 431 from the 2017 Regular Session.

Notes that gerontologists currently are not required to be licensed, certified, registered, or regulated by the State despite working in direct care of older adults.

Requires the Auditor to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2018.

References Hawaii Revised Statutes section 26H-6, which mandates that new measures subjecting unregulated professions to licensing or regulatory controls be referred to the Auditor for analysis.
