University of Hawaii Center on Aging is requested to convene a task force to review current elder and kupuna care services and assess anticipated demand for those services.

Task force must determine requirements for adequate training, workforce expansion, service expansion, and financing to meet projected demand as Hawaii's 60+ population is projected to grow from 18.7% to 27.4% of the state population by 2030.

Task force must conduct a complete economic analysis of the costs associated with kupuna care services, training, workforce expansion, and service expansion.

Task force membership includes 22 members representing state departments, county aging offices, University of Hawaii schools, healthcare industry representatives, caregivers, and organizations like AARP Hawaii and Kokua Mau.

Task force must report findings and recommendations, including proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2018 Regular Session convenes.
