Requests the Department of Accounting and General Services to meet with the County of Hawaii to determine rightful ownership of the King Kamehameha the Great statue located in Kapaau, North Kohala on the Island of Hawaii.

Acknowledges a dispute over ownership and maintenance responsibility arising from the property transfer from the State to the County of Hawaii, though the statue itself is a moveable object not attached to the land.

Directs the Department of Accounting and General Services to determine costs associated with proper care and maintenance of the statue if the State is determined to be the rightful owner.

Extends legislative gratitude to the North Kohala community for maintaining the statue, originally commissioned by the Kingdom of Hawaii Legislature in 1878.

Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Governor, Comptroller, and Mayor of the County of Hawaii.
