Designates January 24, 2017 as "Bioenergy Day" in Hawaii to raise awareness of bioenergy's environmental and economic benefits.

Acknowledges that more than 20 percent of Hawaii's renewable energy and nearly half of the nation's total renewable energy came from bioenergy sources in 2015 and 2012, respectively.

Notes that Hawaii's Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism estimates the state could develop a biofuels industry generating 100 to 300 million gallons of oil equivalent annually with $500 million to $1 billion in annual revenues.

Recognizes the Bioeconomy Hawaii Forum 2017 convening on January 24, 2017 at the Hawaii State Capitol with over 20 organizations, government entities, investors, and industry experts to discuss sustainable bioenergy and biofuel production.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor, Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, Hawaii State Energy Office, and the Biomass Power Association.
