Requests the Governor's Coordinator on Homelessness to convene a working group to examine squatting in Hawaii and develop recommendations to address the issue.

Working group shall define squatting behaviors, identify circumstances and unmet needs that lead to squatting, recommend preventive measures including shelter beds and affordable housing, and recommend ways to resolve community impacts.

Working group shall examine policy and legislative considerations related to trespassing, adverse possession, eviction, loitering, and termination of tenancy.

Working group composition includes Senate and House Housing Committee chairs as co-chairpersons, Director of Human Services, Hawaii Public Housing Authority Executive Director, and representatives from PHOCUSED, Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, and Hawaii Association of Realtors.

Working group shall cease to exist on June 30, 2018, and submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2018 Regular Session convening.
