Removes the sunset date from Act 39, Session Laws of Hawaii 2015, making permanent the movie theater accessibility requirements that were previously set to expire on January 1, 2018.

Requires public accommodations that own, lease, or operate motion picture theaters in more than two locations in Hawaii to provide open movie captioning during at least two showings per week of each motion picture produced with that accommodation.

Mandates audio descriptions upon request for all motion pictures where such accommodations are available.

Requires public notice when audio descriptions or open movie captioning are not available for certain movies.

Effective date: July 1, 2017.
