HI SB1305

Establishes a vocational education out-of-school program for grades 9-12 to be conducted during after-school hours, weekends, and inter-sessions in all public schools and charter schools.

Creates the vocational education program special fund to be administered by the Department of Education and funded through legislative appropriations, gifts, donations, grants, and student participation fees.

Authorizes the Department of Education to contract with private providers to furnish the vocational education program.

Appropriates unspecified sums from general revenues for fiscal years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 to the vocational education program special fund and for implementation costs of the program.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
