Cites Maui's significant military history including its role as a forward training center during World War II, the location of Puunene Naval Air Station, and forced displacement of Native Hawaiians and ranchers from Kaho'olawe when it became a Navy target range

Notes that as of 2015, approximately 9,451 veterans lived on Maui, including 694 World War II veterans, 791 Korean conflict veterans, 3,969 Vietnam conflict veterans, and 1,925 Gulf War veterans

Provides that the renaming shall not affect any federal or state funding for the highway

Takes effect upon approval
