Appropriates $250,000 annually for fiscal years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 to the University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources for the sustainable and organic agriculture program.

Funds three full-time equivalent positions: one educational assistant for the State ($70,000), one research and extension assistant at UH Manoa ($70,000), and one research and extension assistant to serve Hawaii, Kauai, Maui counties and Honolulu ($70,000).

Allocates $40,000 annually for operating expenses of the sustainable and organic agriculture program.

Directs the University of Hawaii to expend the appropriated funds to support profitable farm income, environmental stewardship, and sustainable farm families and rural communities.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
