Changes terminology in Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 602-59(c) from "Opposition" to "A response" when referring to filings against a writ of certiorari application.

Authorizes the court clerk to grant one extension of no more than 15 days for filing a response to a certiorari application upon timely written request by a party.

Requires the court clerk to note the extension grant on the record and provide notice that a timely request was granted.

Defines a timely extension request as one received by the court clerk within the original response filing deadline.

Takes effect January 7, 2059, with the previous version of the statute applying to cases where the intermediate appellate court's judgment was filed before the effective date.
