• Increases minimum fine for first-time DUI offense from $150 to $450 and maximum from $1,000 to $3,000.

• Increases minimum fine for second DUI offense (within 5 years) from $500 to $1,500 and maximum from $1,500 to $4,500.

• Increases minimum fine for third DUI offense (within 5 years of two prior convictions) from $500 to $1,500 and maximum from $2,500 to $7,500.

• Increases mandatory fine for DUI with passenger under age 15 from $500 to $1,500.

• Takes effect upon approval and does not affect proceedings that began before the effective date.
