University of Hawaii Center on Aging is requested to convene a task force to review current elder and kupuna care services and anticipated demand for those services.

Task force must assess requirements for adequate training, workforce expansion, service expansion, and financing to improve elder and kupuna care services.

Task force must conduct a preliminary economic analysis of costs for primary kupuna care services and related workforce and service expansion needs.

Task force membership includes 22 members representing state departments, county aging offices, healthcare educators, industry representatives, caregivers, and AARP Hawaii.

Task force must report findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2018 Regular Session convenes.
