Urges the City and County of Honolulu to name a street after Martin Luther King, Jr.

Recognizes Martin Luther King, Jr. as an important civil rights leader who championed nonviolent civil disobedience and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize at age 35.

Notes that as of 2014, more than 900 streets in 42 states and Puerto Rico were named after Martin Luther King, Jr., but Hawaii lacks such a street.

States that naming a street after Martin Luther King, Jr. would be appropriate for a state that celebrates diversity and acceptance of various ethnicities.

Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Mayor and all Council members of the City and County of Honolulu.
