Requests the Department of Education to establish a task force to identify potential properties on the Wai'anae coast, preferably in Mā'ili, for a Hawaiian-language immersion school serving kindergarten through grade 12.

Task force membership includes the Superintendent of Education (chair), Executive Director of the State Public Charter School Commission, Chairperson of the Hawaiian Homes Commission, Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, Chairperson of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs Board of Trustees, Mayor of Honolulu, and community representatives.

Addresses enrollment decline at Ke Kula Kaiapuni 'o Nānākuli, which serves only kindergarten through grade 6, and high transportation costs as students transfer to immersion schools in other districts.

Task force members are exempt from Chapter 84, Hawaii Revised Statutes conflict of interest requirements related to their task force participation.

Requires the task force to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature at least 30 days before the 2019 regular session convenes.
