Urges private schools in Hawaii to offer or continue offering Hawaiian language instruction as an option or elective in their academic curriculum.

Requests private schools not currently teaching Hawaiian language to survey parents and students to determine interest in adding the language to their curriculum.

Directs the Department of Education to support curriculum and instruction of Hawaiian language in private schools that express interest in adding it.

Requests private schools to identify ways to incorporate Hawaiian language into their curriculum and instruction.

Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to ʻAha Kauleo for Papahana Kaiapuni Hawaiʻi, the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools, and other organizations representing private schools for distribution to member schools.
