Requests the Department of Education to establish a task force to locate potential properties along the Wai'anae coast, preferably in Mā'ili, for a Hawaiian-language immersion school serving kindergarten through grade 12.

Task force composition includes the Superintendent of Education (chair), Executive Director of State Public Charter School Commission, Chairperson of Hawaiian Homes Commission, Chairperson of Board of Land and Natural Resources, Chairperson of Office of Hawaiian Affairs Board of Trustees, Mayor of Honolulu, and community representatives.

Addresses the lack of a comprehensive K-12 Hawaiian-language immersion school on the Wai'anae Coast, where the highest concentration of Hawaiians resides and students currently travel to other school districts for immersion education.

Task force members are exempt from Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 84 conflicts of interest provisions solely due to task force participation.

Requires task force to submit findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the Legislature at least 30 days before the 2019 Regular Session.
