Governor requested to issue proclamation designating June 1, 2018, to June 1, 2019, as the Year of the Hawaiian to commemorate Native Hawaiian accomplishments and cultural achievements over the past 30 years.

Office of Hawaiian Affairs requested to study and recommend to the Legislature a plan to celebrate the Year of the Hawaiian, including celebratory events and fundraising strategies.

Office of Hawaiian Affairs requested to submit the celebration plan and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2018 Regular Session convenes.

Office of Hawaiian Affairs requested to coordinate with the Native Hawaiian community to organize, plan, and raise funds for celebratory events and commemorations throughout the designated year.

Certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Governor, Hawaiian Homes Commission, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Kamehameha Schools, and various Native Hawaiian organizations and councils.
