Removes the June 30, 2017 sunset date from Act 18, Special Session Laws of Hawaii 2009 (sections 3 and 4), allowing the physician workforce assessment program to continue indefinitely.

Removes the June 30, 2017 sunset date from Act 186, Session Laws of Hawaii 2012 (section 1), enabling ongoing funding of physician workforce assessment and planning.

Allows the John A. Burns School of Medicine to continue receiving a portion of physician workforce assessment fees to support recruitment and retention of physicians in rural and medically underserved areas of Hawaii.

Addresses Hawaii's physician workforce shortage by maintaining funding for strategic planning, continuing education, loan repayment programs, and promotion of Hawaii medical careers.

Takes effect on June 29, 2017.
