Establishes the Hawaii Sports Task Force within the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to plan and coordinate efforts to attract major sporting events to Hawaii.

Task force directed to work on reestablishing the Pro Bowl in Hawaii, securing NFL preseason games, world-title soccer tournaments, and UFC events at Aloha Stadium.

Task force shall also pursue other sporting events statewide including golf tournaments, kickboxing, professional wrestling, motor-cross races, tennis, beach volleyball, sailboat races, marathons, triathlons, and cycling events.

Task force membership includes the director of DBEDT (chair), governor, county mayors, Stadium Authority chair, Chamber of Commerce representative, Hawaii Tourism Authority and lodging association leaders, county economic development representatives, one house and one senate member, and a Hawaiian cultural specialist.

Task force required to submit findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2018 regular legislative session; task force dissolves on January 5, 2018.
