Department of Transportation shall acquire the privately owned portion of North Road traversing the Ewa Beach Golf Club by purchase or condemnation under Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 101 to improve public safety.

Department of Transportation shall install street lighting along the acquired portion of North Road after acquisition.

Director of Finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds for an unspecified amount in fiscal year 2018-2019 to fund the North Road acquisition and street lighting installation.

State shall appropriate an unspecified amount as a grant-in-aid to the City and County of Honolulu in fiscal year 2018-2019 for street lighting installation on the city-owned portion of North Road.

Appropriations do not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium except that any unencumbered funds shall lapse on June 30, 2020; the Act takes effect July 1, 2050.
