HI HB1901

Requires the Department of Human Services, in collaboration with the Department of Health, to review the Hawaii Pathways Project pilot and pursue efforts to utilize Medicaid to provide supportive housing services for chronically homeless individuals.

Directs DHS to consider specific factors when planning expansion of supportive housing services through Medicaid managed care, including benefit eligibility criteria, types of supportive housing services, financing strategies, and administration of benefits.

Mandates DHS to submit a report to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2019 regular session detailing the status of the proposed Section 1115 Medicaid waiver amendment, description of supportive housing services, and proposed eligibility criteria.

Appropriates general revenue funds for fiscal year 2018-2019 to support the expansion efforts, contingent on a dollar-for-dollar match with federal funds.

Takes effect on July 1, 2018.
