Appropriates $550,000 from general revenues for fiscal year 2018-2019 to the healthy aging partnership program administered by the executive office on aging within the department of health

Healthy aging partnership program was established in 2003 to improve health status of older adults through evidence-based health promotion and disease prevention programs adapted for Hawaii's multicultural population

Program received the 2013 multicultural aging award from the American Society on Aging and helps participants reduce health limitations and doctor visits

Without fiscal year 2018-2019 funding, the program will close and the executive office on aging will be unable to meet the first goal of Hawaii's state plan on aging to help older adults age well and remain active in their communities

Takes effect July 1, 2018
