HI HB2019

Establishes a three-year homeless employment grant program administered by the Department of Human Services to connect homeless individuals with temporary work opportunities.

Program shall pay individuals for hours worked, which may include limited time with service providers, with payments funded from the program's budget.

Program shall connect homeless individuals with appropriate service providers and provide transportation to shelters at the end of the work day when appropriate.

Department of Human Services must submit a report to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2019 regular session with implementation progress, findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation.

Appropriates funds from general revenues for fiscal year 2018-2019 to establish the program, effective July 1, 2020 (with main effective date July 1, 3000).
