• Modifies the exceptions to employment discrimination protections to specify that employment actions must be unrelated to discriminatory practices, unequal pay due to sex discrimination, criminal conviction records, and credit history restrictions.

• Establishes that the clarification applies to employer, employment agency, and labor organization actions regarding hiring, referral, and discharge decisions.

• Takes effect January 1, 2050.

• Does not affect rights, duties, penalties, or proceedings that occurred before the effective date.
