Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 386-79 to require physicians and surgeons selected and paid by employers to conduct medical examinations of injured workers to be "duly qualified"

Defines "duly qualified" as: appropriately licensed in Hawaii under chapter 453, possesses medical malpractice insurance, and owes the same duty and standard of care to the injured employee as would be owed to a traditional patient

Limits employer-requested medical examinations to no more than one per case unless good and valid reasons exist regarding the employee's medical progress

Caps the cost of employer-ordered medical examinations at the complex consultation charges governed by the medical fee schedule established under section 386-21(c)

Takes effect July 1, 2055
