H.B. 2279 Summary

• Requires the Department of Health to post inspection reports for state-licensed care facilities (adult day health centers, adult day care centers, community care foster family homes, developmental disabilities homes, long-term care facilities, and special treatment facilities) on its website within five working days of inspection completion, beginning January 1, 2015.

• Inspection reports must include the inspection date, descriptions of violations, correction plans and status, corrective actions taken by facilities, and other quality and condition information deemed appropriate by the department.

• Inspection reports documenting violations shall be removed from the website three years after posting.

• Authorizes the Department of Health to maintain an online forum on its website where state-licensed care facilities may post vacancy information to facilitate placement of individuals in these facilities.

• Requires the Department of Health to convene a working group and submit a report to the legislature by twenty days before the 2019 regular session regarding implementation and maintenance of the vacancy information forum, with feedback on posting vacancy information.

• Expands licensing and certification requirements to community-based care homes and adult day care centers, and makes intentional operation of these facilities without a license a misdemeanor.

• Takes effect July 1, 3000.
