H.B. 2550 Summary

• Amends Section 237D-6.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to redirect $1,000,000 from the tourism special fund allocation from the Hawaii convention center to the State of Hawaii museum of natural and cultural history (Bishop Museum).

• Changes the funding purpose from "operation" of a Hawaiian center and museum of Hawaiian music and dance to "plan, design, and construction" of these facilities at the Bishop Museum.

• Maintains the $1,000,000 allocation amount within the existing $82,000,000 tourism special fund distribution structure.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2018.
