Establishes biennial continuing medical education requirements of 40 credit hours for physician assistant license renewal, beginning with the licensing biennium commencing February 1, 2020, and every two years thereafter.

Specifies acceptable continuing medical education sources including Category 1 programs accredited by the American Medical Association, Category 1A programs accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, Category 1 programs accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistants, or other Category 1 or 1A programs approved by the Hawaii Medical Board through administrative rules.

Authorizes the Hawaii Medical Board to conduct random audits of physician assistants' continuing education documentation for compliance verification.

Physician assistants selected for audit must provide documentation to the board within 60 days of notification to verify compliance with continuing medical education requirements.

Removes the previous requirement for physician assistants to maintain continuing certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants for license renewal.
