H.B. 2711 - Public Beach Access Task Force

• Establishes a public beach access task force within the office of the lieutenant governor to address declining public beach access and parking.

• Task force comprises 11 members: director of office of planning (chair), board of land and natural resources chairperson, attorney general, and four members appointed jointly by the senate president and house speaker (two county planning directors and two county police chiefs).

• Task force shall identify all traditional public beach access points and their current status, develop a plan to reopen closed access points and open new ones based on public demand, and recommend enforcement of parking regulations and relevant state and county laws.

• Task force must submit findings and recommendations, including proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than 20 days before the 2019 regular session begins.

• Task force ceases to exist on June 30, 2019.
