Requires child care facilities (family child care homes, group child care centers, group child care homes, and infant/toddler centers) that care for children under one year of age to implement and maintain written safe sleep policies.

Mandates that infants one year of age or younger be placed on their backs for sleeping, unless a health care professional provides a written waiver.

Requires facility operators to discuss safe sleep policies with parents or legal guardians before enrollment and obtain their signed acknowledgment of receipt.

Mandates that operators and all employees complete department-conducted training in safe sleep practices.

Requires child care facilities to promptly report to the department any deaths of children one year of age or younger that occur while in their care.
