Allows applicants to obtain dental licensure in Hawaii by passing the ADEX examination or any substantively similar exam, including future uniform national dental examinations.

Permits practicing dentists licensed in another state to qualify for Hawaii licensure if they hold an active license in good standing and have at least five years of dental practice experience.

Addresses difficulties experienced dentists have faced obtaining Hawaii licensure, particularly those licensed in other states prior to 2005 when ADEX became the sole approved examination.

Aims to increase access to dental care in Hawaii by expanding the pool of qualified dentists eligible for licensure through alternative examination pathways and professional experience recognition.

Effective July 1, 2017.
