Prohibits dentists without specialty education credentials from advertising as practicing dental specialties, with penalties including license suspension, revocation, or fines.

Adds "dentistry for children" to the list of prohibited specialty advertising terms that can only be used by dentists who completed American Dental Association-defined specialty education.

Expands the prohibition to include words or phrases "similar to" the existing list of prohibited specialty terms, not just identical phrases.

Requires that dentists advertising in recognized specialty areas must include a prominent disclaimer that they are a general dentist or that specialty services will be provided by a general dentist.

Legislation was prompted by a 2013 incident where a non-pediatric specialist dentist in Kailua advertised "dentistry for children" services that resulted in serious complications for a young patient.
