Modifies section 586-10.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to allow courts to direct the Department of Human Services to provide oral or written reports on the safety of minor children in domestic abuse cases, rather than requiring automatic written reports.

Eliminates the mandatory requirement for the Department of Human Services to provide written reports on the disposition of referrals and to notify the court of temporary restraining orders and hearing dates.

Permits the Department of Human Services to avoid appearing at hearings if providing only a written report, unless specifically ordered by the court.

Requires courts to provide copies of all written Department of Human Services reports to both parties in the case.

Takes effect on July 1, 2075.
