• Approves the sale of fee simple interest in Parcel I (tax map key no. (1) 2-1-015:061) located in Kaka'ako, Honolulu from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to the City and County of Honolulu.

• Parcel I is approximately 141,832 square feet and was appraised at $29,640,000 fair market value as of December 5, 2017 by James E. Hallstrom, Jr. and Brian S. Goto of CBRE, Inc.

• The primary purpose of the sale is to address municipal sewage needs and increase system capacity for the east Honolulu service basin through construction of a major pump station and/or other wastewater facility.

• Parcel I was classified as government or crown lands prior to August 15, 1895, a determination made through title research conducted by Office of Hawaiian Affairs staff.

• The Office of Hawaiian Affairs conducted a public informational briefing on the proposed sale on March 7, 2018, and draft resolution was submitted to OHA at least three months before the 2018 Regular Session.
