Urges the Mayor of Honolulu and City Council to allocate more resources to the Honolulu Police Department to increase visible police presence and active patrols in Waianae

Cites crime statistics from January 2018 in District 8 (West Oahu), including 2 homicides, 41 assaults, 41 burglaries, 28 drug crimes, 172 thefts, 143 unauthorized vehicle entries, and 6 weapons incidents

Notes that Waianae had the highest rates of homicide, unauthorized vehicle entry, and weapons possession compared to other Oahu districts during January 2018

Acknowledges concerns about unreported crimes and calls from local residents and business owners for increased police presence to deter criminal activity

Requires copies of the resolution be sent to the Mayor, Honolulu City Council Chair, Chief of Honolulu Police Department, and Chair of Waianae Neighborhood Board
