Requests the Hawaii Community Development Authority retain the Kakaako Reserved Housing Rules (chapter 15-218, Hawaii Administrative Rules) without amendments.

Kakaako Reserved Housing Rules, effective November 11, 2011, establish an increased supply of housing for low- or moderate-income residents within the Kakaako community development district.

Current rules require new developments or redevelopments in Kakaako to designate at least 20 percent of total residential floor area as reserved housing units, or 15 percent if units are developed as rentals.

Legislature objects to proposed amendments to the rules and directs the Hawaii Community Development Authority to maintain the rules in their current form.

Requires certified copies be sent to the Executive Director of the Hawaii Community Development Authority and the Director of the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism.
