Urges the Mayor of Honolulu and Honolulu City Council to allocate additional resources to the Honolulu Police Department for increased visible police presence and active patrols in Waianae.

Notes that during January 2018, District 8 (which includes West Oahu/Waianae) reported 2 homicides, 41 assaults, 41 burglaries, 28 drug crimes, 172 thefts, 143 unauthorized vehicle entries, and 6 weapons incidents.

Cites high numbers of reported crimes in assault and theft during the last quarter of 2017 in Waianae, with concerns that many crimes go unreported to police.

Acknowledges Waianae's cultural and historical significance to Oahu and emphasizes the importance of protecting residents, business owners, workers, and their property from criminal activity.

Requires distribution of resolution copies to the Mayor, Honolulu City Council Chair, Honolulu Police Chief, and Waianae Neighborhood Board Chair.
