Request the Department of Agriculture to establish a Kauai Invasive Species Task Force to study invasive animal issues and recommend a comprehensive plan.

Task Force membership includes the Board of Agriculture Chairperson (serving as Chair), Board of Land and Natural Resources Chairperson, Kauai County Planning Department representative, Kauai Visitors Bureau representative, Kauai Invasive Species Committee representative, Kauai Humane Society representative, Kauai Hunting Association representative, Kauai County Farm Bureau representative, and other members as deemed appropriate.

Task Force directed to collect data on who is impacted by invasive animals and document the impacts, develop strategies and priorities to address identified issues, and explore value-added opportunities such as using invasive animal meat as a commodity.

Task Force required to submit findings, recommendations, comprehensive plan, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2019 Regular Session.

Certified copies to be transmitted to leadership of the Department of Agriculture, Board of Land and Natural Resources, Kauai County Planning, Kauai Visitors Bureau, Kauai Invasive Species Committee, Kauai Humane Society, Kauai Hunting Association, and Kauai Farm Bureau.
