Repeals HRS Section 325-15, which required U.S. citizens or nationals returning to Hawaii after five or more years in foreign countries or U.S. territories with high disease occurrence to submit medical examination reports to the Department of Health within sixty days.

Eliminates the mandatory tuberculin skin test or chest x-ray examination requirement for returning residents, including chest x-ray submission in cases of positive skin tests.

Legislature finds the mandatory testing provides marginal benefits to tuberculosis control in Hawaii while being costly to maintain and impractical to enforce.

Repealing the requirement will reduce burdens for travelers without significant risk to public health.

Effective upon approval.
