S.B. 2097 Summary

• Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 350-2 to authorize the Department of Human Services to disclose the disposition of confirmed child abuse or neglect investigations occurring in group child care homes or centers to parents/guardians of enrolled children or applicants.

• Disclosure of confirmed abuse or neglect findings is limited to the disposition only and excludes names or identifying information of protected individuals.

• Applies only to incidents confirmed by the department and perpetrated by agents, employees, or independent contractors of licensed group child care facilities under Section 346-163.

• Takes effect July 1, 2050.
