SB2524 Summary

• Requires owners of land subdivided as condominium property regimes in agricultural or preservation lands within counties with populations of 750,000 or more to provide public notice of the sale no later than 90 days after the sale.

• Prohibits residential use of storage sheds and other structures on leased agricultural land in counties with populations of 750,000 or more, unless permitted under county ordinances and rules, with violations subject to county enforcement and fines.

• Prohibits residential development on lands currently in preservation zoning districts in counties with populations of 750,000 or more.

• Allows counties with populations of 750,000 or more to adopt supplemental ordinances (in addition to rules) governing condominium property regimes and to include comments on infrastructure, environmental resources, and county requirements in agricultural district project registration applications.

• Effective date: July 1, 2018.
