Requires police to make reasonable efforts to notify finders when devices are destroyed and disposed of or recycled due to inability to remove personal information.

Applies the same sanitization requirements to electronic devices found at state airports under the department of transportation's control.

Defines "personal information" as an individual's name combined with social security number, driver's license or Hawaii ID number, or financial account credentials (consistent with existing Hawaii privacy law).
